Original McLaren's weren't exactly modded Mustangs. There was more to it than that. They were definitely more of a kit car...but more similar to a company like Pantera. I believe and I'm probably mistaken about this, but I think some even used the Ford 350 Cleveland engine, as did many of the Panteras. : Because I've ridden in a Mclaren, we had one for like a week, they're not that special, except for the f1's. Other Mclarens before that were just Modded mustangs, and I think Cavaliers before that. They're mostly a tuning company, like Saleen, and I think they're only original car is the F1. I think it has a BMW engine, anyway.
